Dennis Weaver: Best of the West

USATODAY.com - Dennis Weaver: Best of the West

Why are all the these great actors dying lately? ... Stop It! ..

I used to watch McCloud all the time, back in the '70s. I remember the Chester character from Gunsmoke, but moreso from repeats of episodes.
And Dennis Weaver rivoted my attention in the classic Duel, way back before I had any appreciation, of the then mostly unknown Steven Speilberg.

Nobel laureate, CU scientists make key cancer discovery

Rocky Mountain News: Local

Cancer cells utilize telomerase (an enzyme), antioxidants, and other methods to extend their mutated and rampant lives, far beyond normal cells. Basically to infinite reproduction levels. Since normal reproduction is distorted, they obviously replicate much faster than normal. If these scientists are able to find chemicals that can distort the shape of telomeres, at the end of chromosomes, then they can "give" the cancer cell a "normal lifespan" .. i.e. the same number of divisions that occur in regular cells. THAT means, since a cancer cell replicates faster ... it will DIE sooner.
"LIVE FAST, DIE YOUNG" ... I can't think of a motto I would like better for Cancer cells.

Here is more proof that Great Minds Think Alike.

Dark matter comes out of the cold

BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Dark matter comes out of the cold

Now it appears that Dark Matter particles are transparent to light, ... have no electrical charge, ...... move at slightly over 20,000 MPH ,,,, and would be about 18,000 F., if they were made of Hydrogen atoms. (which they are not) ..... have a density equal to the weight of about 0.3 Hydrogen atoms per cc near the Sun ... and a maximum density equal to the weight of about 4 Hydrogen atoms per cc.
They are, however not composed of electrons, protons or neutrons.
It also appears that they only exist in areas of space 1,000 light-years wide, or bigger.

From the article HERE:

Thanks to its unusual nature, it has a high temperature caused by the excited movement of its particles but no heat.

Prof Gilmore added: "The strange thing about dark matter is that it has temperature but doesn't give off radiation. It is a different form of matter not made of the same stuff as ordinary matter that consists of protons and neutrons, and has no charge."

Mother Angry About Condition Of Her Soldier Son's Body

WSBTV.com - News - Mother Angry About Condition Of Her Soldier Son's Body

After Paul Saylor died in Iraq, he never got the respect he deserved.

His body was so badly decomposed, that the family had to have a closed-casket funeral.

No Honor Guard at the airport either ... they unloaded his casket with a forklift.

Our military currently has no mortuary or embalming facilities in Iraq.
