Nobel laureate, CU scientists make key cancer discovery

Rocky Mountain News: Local

Cancer cells utilize telomerase (an enzyme), antioxidants, and other methods to extend their mutated and rampant lives, far beyond normal cells. Basically to infinite reproduction levels. Since normal reproduction is distorted, they obviously replicate much faster than normal. If these scientists are able to find chemicals that can distort the shape of telomeres, at the end of chromosomes, then they can "give" the cancer cell a "normal lifespan" .. i.e. the same number of divisions that occur in regular cells. THAT means, since a cancer cell replicates faster ... it will DIE sooner.
"LIVE FAST, DIE YOUNG" ... I can't think of a motto I would like better for Cancer cells.

Here is more proof that Great Minds Think Alike.
