The large, delicate crest on the head of this ancestor of T-Rex, may very well help establish their family tree. It is missing in the T-Rex itself.
This one may have even had protofeathers as a youngster.
Since the fossil was found in the badlands that were used as background for the movie, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" ... I guess you could say ... THIS is ONE of the Hidden Dragons ... ;-)
