Basically .. this water, they are talking about, is chemically part of the rock. However, in this unique case, it is under such incredible heat and pressure, it behaves as a gas and moves quickly. From what I have heard before ... water itself, doesn't exist below 2000 ft. ... the pressure is so great, it would in effect, squeeze it out .. and/or it would chemically, become part of the rock.
