I have an interesting problem with some of these Mars photos .... often, the perspective will flip with me, and I'll see the negative image first, for example. The edges of mesas, will look like they tilt down toward what looks like an infilled lake-bottom. In reality, I'm looking not at the bottom of a filled-in lake, but at the TOP of a mesa ... and the sides are eroded in the opposite direction, to the way I first see them ...
