New Nanocoating Is Virtual Black Hole for Reflections

Several things remain puzzling to me about this material .... I wonder if the nanocoating can selectively transmit photons OR if the photons are trapped and heat the nanocoating ... and if so ... does it then destroy the nanorods?
I also don't grasp at the moment, the concept of this creating High-reflectance mirrors .... hmmm ....
