The cloak sounds very interesting, although it sounds like instead of being generally cloaked, you could only cloak yourself from a specific point.
I can see how this could get very confusing ... very fast .. :)
But if you were just going to hide from a specific point, you could just come up with an extremely fine LCD, say ... and then a camera on the opposite side of your ship .. and then just project what the camera saw .. to the other side large LCD ... while always making sure you turned your ship, to be perpendicular to the tracking ship. I am of course talking about being in outer space, at the time.
For the kind of cloak they are talking about, I sort of visualize a sphere .. like the one they showed in that other cloaking experiment with microwaves. The light would hit from any angle, and then reflect internally ... somehow .. inside the shell of the sphere .. and then escape, by exiting and doing it's final diffraction, at the surface of the sphere, 180 degrees away, on the opposite side.
Who knows .. you might even use a flying saucer shape, ... edge-on, OR in the lens shape, the other way ... and bend the light around that ... ;-)
This may be what the UFOs have been doing all along ... :)
