Sounds like something the High-Definition TV folks would have thought of ... namely photon-recycling via upconversion .... ;-)

In reality, this sounds like a great method, to boost solar-cell conversion efficiency, that can be applied repeatedly, for different unused wavelengths, by finding the correct pairs of antenna and emitter molecules.
