The interesting thing is that the undoctored photo looks just as "wartorn" as the look he was trying to fake.
There was another case of a woman being pictured in front of her destroyed home. They a couple of weeks later, another destroyed house but with the same sad looking woman posing in front of it.
A cartoonist for the Rome paper, did a take on this, where he showed a original frame with one man sprawled out .. and then the doctored one, with a dozen or more multiples of him, photoshopped around on the ground. (It actually made me wonder if the cartoonist used Photoshop to duplicate all those figures ... :) )
