NASA Prepares for Return of Interstellar Cargo
The sample return vehicle will enter Earth's atmosphere at somewhere between 26,000 - 28,000 mph, making the return, the fastest for any man-made object ever recorded. I saw on NASA-TV today, where they have run all sorts of simulated landings, and they expect that the aerogel, in the many different segments, could survive even a hard landing, with no parachutes deployed.
