Dog Genome Mapped, Shows Similarities to Humans

It now turns out, that humans and dogs share 5% of their genome sequence, and humans and mice share 5% of their genome sequence. The wonderful thing about this decoding of the dog genome, is that since dogs and humans have some of the same diseases, such as cancer, there is a possiblity of using the inception of these diseases in dogs as a model for similar diseases in humans.
